As Plato once said, "you can learn more about a person in an hour of play - than a whole year of conversation. And that is the exact value proposition we try to bring to the table."

Owiwi

Year or founding: 2014
Location: Greece
Owiwi helps companies optimize their hiring funnels to change the way they attract, identify and select talents for a job position.

Owiwi is a fun and engaging psychometric tool that accurately measures candidate soft skills. Think of a combination of advanced scientific methodology packed within an immersive game that millennials enjoy taking part in. We take away the stress in the hiring process for the candidate while minimising / eliminating the recruiter risk of hiring the wrong candidate.

Our vision and mission is to help re-shape the world of recruitment and employment by harnessing games and big data to help companies phase out old, unproductive and unsophisticated means of talent acquisition and recruitment. As Plato once said, you can learn more about a person in an hour of play – than a whole year of conversation. And that is the exact value proposition we try to bring to the table.

AN ACHIEVEMENT
While perhaps not as sexy as some of our other achievements and accomplishments - we are most proud of our scientific thought leadership. We are the only game based assessment tool in the field to have publish several (7+) papers in peer reviewed journals. Our commitment and dedication to scientific integrity is paving the way for the industry to grow and adopt these kinds of solutions more openly. Moreover, it is a testament to our ability to remain active in the market and to ensure the creation and use of an objective and bias-free assessment tool. Thanks to our devotion and respect to the scientific process we were also selected to participate in a European Project titled "Big Data in Psychological Assessment" in collaboration with Erasmus+ and EPSO (European Personnel Selection Office).
AN ADVICE
Most important though i would say to focus on your value proposition and to ensure that the solution you offer solves a real problem, in an effective way. This means being in tune with your target market and understanding their pain-points. If you do that well, then the trajectory of the business becomes more clear and you will never go out of business. Other pieces of advice would be: - Start Small/Niche. - Surround yourself with great partners (especially Lawyers and Accountants). - Avoid being a perfectionist. - Fail Fast. Fail Hard. - Do not overengineer solutions. Adopt Lean methodologies and MVP's. - Gain some traction first before attempting to raise funds.
